Spam comment is that kind of comment which are robotic generated by machine instead of human.Spammer Robots target those websites which have any “Website” option in Comment.They do it for generate auto backlinks. It is called black hat seo.To prevent Spam Comments and to stop it use following tricks.
1. Akismet Plugin
Akismet one of the best and most popular plugin to prevent spam. Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet Web service to see if they look like spam or not and lets you review the spam it catches under your blog’s “Comments” admin screen.It automatically checks all comments and filters out the ones that look like spam.
2. Captcha Plugin
Adds CAPTCHA anti-spam methods to WordPress on the forms for comments, registration, lost password, login, or all. For WP, WPMU, and BuddyPress.

4. Delete “Website” option from Comment Template
The “Website” option is an optional box in Comment form .You can delete it from your admin panel.
Why should you delete ?
Many Spammer Robots target those websites which have any Website option in Comment.When you delete the “Website” option hope it will reduce spam comments.

To delete the “Website” option got Dashboard.Then Dashboard >> Appearance >> Editor . Then go to themes comment Template.
Delete this option from comment.php(Comment Template)
